In case you haven’t heard already, yes, today is Free Transit Everywhere Day. Which is great, but I wish they’d been able to do more of these when the air is really bad, as intended, instead of just one day to “encourage” people to use transit. I mean, gas prices are high and never going back down, and if they would run the system better, people would use it without any “encouragement” at all.
Also, beware of a potential traffic snarler downtown, as apparently there’s some sort of health care protest. I’d heard about this a while ago but forgot to mention it earlier – the organizers of these things can hype pretty good, so whether this is going to be a mid-day hassle, or a slight inconvenience remains to be seen.
Enjoy the day!
